International Relations Office: the structure

Hello everyone, greetings from Rome :)

I would be interested in learning how International Relations Offices are structured at your institutions.

In particular:

  • How many staff members work in your International Relations Office?

  • Does your office also deal with international development (e.g. strategic partnerships, international projects, global engagement), or is it mainly focused on mobility programmes such as Erasmus and other exchanges?

  • Roughly how many students does your institution have?

Dear Valerio,

thank you for sharing this information.

Regarding the University of Turin, here below the required information:

  • We have one central International Mobility Office with 15 people, then we have small International Offices of each School/Departments with 2 to 5 people;

  • Our office (International Office of the Hub of Law and Social Sciences) also deals with strategic partnerships supporting the central offices in creating new Erasmus agreements and international cooperation agreements; it also deals with management and reporting of international projects;

  • Our university counts around 80.000 students.

If you need any other information, please let me know.

Thank you!

February 22, 2026 · updated the description of the group.

This group is dedicated to the exchange of good practices among Erasmus Officers and professionals working in international mobility offices. It aims to provide a collaborative environment where members can share procedures, tools, experiences, and practical solutions related to the management of Erasmus+ and other mobility programmes.

The group serves a dual purpose: to promote continuous professional development for experienced staff and to support colleagues who are new to the role. By encouraging peer learning, discussion of case studies, and the sharing of templates and operational guidelines, the group seeks to strengthen competencies, improve service quality, and foster a strong professional community within the field of international mobility.
