International Relations Office: the structure
Hello everyone, greetings from Rome :)
I would be interested in learning how International Relations Offices are structured at your institutions.
In particular:
How many staff members work in your International Relations Office?
Does your office also deal with international development (e.g. strategic partnerships, international projects, global engagement), or is it mainly focused on mobility programmes such as Erasmus and other exchanges?
Roughly how many students does your institution have?
I’ll start by sharing our situation for context,
The Institute: Private university
The office: just one central Erasmus office (no other departments), 2 staff members plus 1 intern,
Students enrolled: about 4,000
Main tasks: we manage all mobility programmes (both study and traineeship), international partnerships, and study abroad programmes. On average, we handle around six mobility calls per year and also coordinate the organisation of international visits.
Governance: Administratively we report to a Director for Quality and International Development, while on the academic side the office reports to the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation.
I would be very interested to hear how your offices are structured and what responsibilities you cover.
Many thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

Dear Valerio,
thank you for sharing this information.
Regarding the University of Turin, here below the required information:
We have one central International Mobility Office with 15 people, then we have small International Offices of each School/Departments with 2 to 5 people;
Our office (International Office of the Hub of Law and Social Sciences) also deals with strategic partnerships supporting the central offices in creating new Erasmus agreements and international cooperation agreements; it also deals with management and reporting of international projects;
Our university counts around 80.000 students.
If you need any other information, please let me know.
Thank you!
